What It Means To Be A Virgo

 

Virgo is the 6th sign of the zodiac, to be exact... and that's how we Virgos like it: exact. Those of us born under this sign are forever the butt of jokes for being too picky and critical (and we are), but our "attention to detail" is for a reason: to help YOU. Virgos, more than any other sign, were born to serve, and it gives us great joy, if you can believe THAT...

As I'm sure most of you know, Virgo is represented by the Virgin, although this association shouldn't be taken in the literal sense. Instead, Virgos tend to take on some of the qualities of a Virgin, things like modesty and humanity. Some might consider them repressed, although Virgins would argue it's a noble quality.

A Virgo's brain is in overdrive more often than not, which is why we get SO much done. We are big communicators and use our mental acuity to its maximum advantage. All of this brainpower can make Virgos prone to skepticism, and can even lead us to over-think things that leads to obvious overkill *shrugs*

Thankfully, though, Virgos can curb their worst impulses with the kind of careful analysis other signs WISH they had. Virgos enjoy studying a situation in great detail, whether it's a work project, a friendship or a potential love interest. The main quality of many Virgos is the perfectionism that can get in the way of our usual clear thinking. "I'm not descriminating; I'm a perfectionist!" a Virgo would say. Along those lines, Virgos are also neat and clean, save for the occasional sloppy Virgin (we do exist & despite what our egos tell us, we are NOT perfect). Virgins are super reliable, very practical and oh-so-useful to have around.

Virgos are Earth signs, and in keeping with that, most Virgos are grounded, salt-of-the-earth types. We can be very humble and easy-going. On the OTHER hand, Virgins do enjoy material possessions and are (dare I say?) extremely picky about what they bring into their lives. You may even go as far as calling us self-centered, but it's really more of a desire to surround ourselves with what's right -- for us. While Virgos can be worrywarts, they do their best to hide these impulses so that you'll never see us freak out on the surface. However, if this nervousness goes unchecked, it can lead to the release of the hypochondriatic skeleton in the Virgo's closet.

When it comes to the game of love, Virgos are able to loosen up somewhat and are devoted to their lovers, even if we can be a bit jealous, but you'll never hear us admit THAT outloud.

The great strength of those of us born under the Virgo sign is in our practicality, sharp mind and extreme attention to detail. Sure, we can be picky, but so what?? We know what we want and we honestly don't see ANY problem with that... ;)
