Evaluation Time... 2011 Edition
It's amazing how at the end of each year, everyone of us takes the time (whether we mean to or not) to evaluate the year that has passed. We begin making bucket lists and devising resolutions for the next year: leaving the mistakes made in 2011 IN 2011, vowing to lose weight, moving on from a love who broke our hearts time and time again, eating healthier, living life on our own terms, not on the terms of what society deems "acceptable", etc.
For me, 2011 has been quite the roller coaster ride. I've been unemployed, uninsured, had 2 surgeries, discontinued long friendships, reconnected with people I never expected to reconnect with, established awesome relationships with my Dad's side of the family, watched my Nan(a)'s health decline, seen members of my family hit a proverbial "brick wall" and come back from it stronger than ever. To sum it up, I've definitely grown up, A LOT!!
For 2012, whether the world ends or not (still not sure I believe any of us are going anywhere ANY time soon), I would love nothing more than to be able to smile more days than I frown, step outside of the circle I've drawn around myself and push a little further outside of my comfort zone. However, I don't want to wait UNTIL 2012 to do this. I want to make the necessary steps now, this way when 2012 does come, I'll be ready for it!! :)
So going into the new year, I'm not going to be afraid to express how I feel. More importantly, I won't apologize for those feelings either. It's who I am & I'm choosing to Embrace It!!
*jumps off soap box*
So the question remains for all of you... Are you making the necessary steps towards what you want going into 2012?? <--Food for thought.
Til next time... xoxox
